She is one of the most popular actresses in French cinema. Valérie Bonneton first appeared on television in the hit series Fais pas ci, fais pas ça, and has since tried her hand at a wide range of roles, including Ivan Calbérac’s Venise n’est pas en Italie, in which she co-starred with Benoît Poelvoorde, and Guillaume Canet’s Les Petits Mouchoirs, a role that earned her a 2011 César nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
She has also played offbeat characters alongside Dany Boon in Eyjafjallajökull, La Ch’tite Famille and Supercondriaque. More recently, she co-starred with Kad Merad in Les Boules de Noël, Alexandra Leclère’s latest film, which closed the Liège International Comedy Film Festival and will be released in cinemas on November 27, 2024. Valérie Bonneton is undoubtedly one of the great names of French cinema, and a key figure in French comedy on the silver screen.
She was awarded an honorary Golden Bull at the festival’s Palmarès ceremony, and a slab bearing her name was also inaugurated on the Walk of Fame, rue Pont d’Avroy, right in the heart of the city of fire!
