The Golden Bull

Sculpted by Léon Mignon in 1880, the statue Li Toré (the bull in Liège Walloon) is the immutable symbol of the Liège International Comedy Film Festival. Strong and powerful, it embodies the Torré of the city of Liège, as well as our desire to constantly push back the limits of audacity and imagination.

From the outset, our Awards have been shaped and engraved by Liège glass sculptor Constant Beerden. Born in Ougrée (Seraing) in 1964, the artist uses and magnifies glass, which he contrasts with other materials such as bluestone and metal, to highlight the transparency of glass. His work can be found in many museums and galleries in Belgium and abroad.

At the FIFCL 2023, Gérard Lanvin received an honorary Golden Bull in the surprise presence of Benoît Poelvoorde, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Olivier Marchal and Vincent Roget – © Aurore Nivelle.
