The CineComedies Lab: a writing residency dedicated exclusively… 100% to comedy!
Open to French, Belgian and French-speaking scriptwriters from all over Europe, the CineComedies Lab writing residency aims to foster the emergence of new talent and actively contribute to the development of the art of comedy in cinema.
At the end of this residency, they present their projects to European producers at the Liège International Comedy Film Festival, thereby giving their screenplays a real opportunity for development and production.
Since its inception, the residency program has facilitated the development of 44 projects. Several of them have been optioned by producers and are now covered by development agreements.
In this context :
- Producers who acquire a project from the CineComedies Lab are eligible for development support from Wallimpact, up to 15,000 €.
- RTBF awards a €17,500 writing grant to a Belgian screenwriter.
