An honorary award for Guillaume de Tonquédec

A little less than a week after the start of the competition, the juries’ deliberations have been sealed. Come and celebrate the beauty of cinema with us once again. We’d also like to present an honorary award to Guillaume de Tonquédec.

A talented actor and comedian, the public’s love for this great name in French cinema is undeniable. On stage, on television and in the movies, he has been playing ever more admired roles with accuracy, humor and brio since the late 80s. Tableau d’honneur, Commissaire Cordier, Le Prénom – in which he already played Claude Gatignol in the theater – , Fais pas ci, fais pas ça, Au bonheur des ogres, Parlez-moi de la pluie, L’esprit de famille, Les nuits d’été, Profilage, Une affaire française… are just a few examples of his incredible filmography.

In 2013, he received the César for Best Supporting Actor for Le Prénom, and the Prix Beaumarchais for Best Actor for La Garçonnière in 2017. He was also awarded the Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres in 2015.

We’re delighted to be able to award Guillaume de Tonquédec an honorary prize for his career and achievements. For a personality we’re delighted to see again and again. We’re already looking forward to an emotional evening on Tuesday November 9 at the Forum de Liège.

Laugh, cry, applaud, admire, push open doors, shake up habits, discover other worlds – in short, bring comedy and the Cité Ardente to life!
