Lighting Museum

Opened in October 2012, the Musée d’Art et Technique des Luminaires in Liège presents, in a didactic and chronological way, important lighting fixtures that have been used around the world from prehistoric times to the 21st century. Luminaires, closets, sconces and chandeliers in operation show the evolution of mankind’s different lighting methods. Philippe Deitz has been collecting antique lighting fixtures since the age of 15. Thanks to the donation of part of his collection to the City of Liège, the project for this new museum was born.
