This November, cinema is making its mark once again in the heart of Liège. For its upcoming edition, the Liège International Comedy Film Festival (FIFCL) will honor four figures from the world of cinema during the unveiling of new plaques on its iconic Liège Walk of Fame. Jean Dujardin (“OSS 117,” “Brice de Nice”), Agnès Jaoui (“Le Goût des autres,” “Un air de famille”), David Salles (“Babysitting,” “Case départ”), and Bernard Campan (“Les Trois Frères,” “Le Pari”) will be honored during four public, free ceremonies.
The open-air movie theater, in the heart of Liège
Liège boasts a unique way of life, blending heritage, a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and a vibrant cultural scene. And for film lovers, there’s one place you simply can’t miss: Rue Pont d’Avroy, home to the FIFCL’s Liège Walk of Fame.
A veritable permanent red carpet in the heart of the city, this walkway has been paying tribute to the great figures of cinema and comedy since 2016. Actors, directors, and other notable figures leave a lasting mark here through blue stone slabs, hand-carved by Belgian artist Jozia Gozdz.
With each new edition, this iconic venue is enriched with new exhibits and celebrates the richness of cinema, while offering both residents of Liège and visitors a unique opportunity to encounter, during a stroll, the names that have left their mark on the big screen.
Four personalities, four events
Once again this year, the FIFCL is continuing this tradition by unveiling four new plaques. Four events to celebrate remarkable life stories and share a special moment with the honorees in the heart of Liège.
Benoît Poelvoorde, Gérard Lanvin, Lambert Wilson, Carole Bouquet, Nathalie Baye, Jean Reno, Muriel Robin, Christian Clavier, Josiane Balasko, and Gilbert Melki came to unveil their plaque in the heart of Liège.
The 2026 Inauguration Schedule:
- Tuesday, November 10, at 5 p.m.: Jean Dujardin
- Thursday, November 12, at 6 p.m.: Agnès Jaoui
- Friday, November 13, at 6:00 p.m.: David Salles
- Saturday, November 14, at 5 p.m.: Bernard Campan
The ceremonies will take place on Rue Pont d’Avroy and will be open to the public free of charge.
A tradition that celebrates cinema
Much more than a tribute set in stone, the Liège Walk of Fame has become a must-see event at the FIFCL. Each new plaque adds to the festival’s history and strengthens the bonds between artists, the public, and the city of Liège.
Whether you’re a film enthusiast, a festival regular, or simply curious, come attend these unveilings and celebrate the people who bring the seventh art to life.
Join us on Rue Pont d’Avroy for four moments of cinema, togetherness, and emotion, right in the heart of Liège!
