As part of the Liège International Comedy Film Festival (FIFCL), Anotherlight invites you to a masterclass on the realities of casting and the acting profession on Wednesday, November 11, 2026.
Hosted by casting directors Manon Le Bozec, Meriem Amari, Élise Vogel, and Emmanuel Thomas, as well as Mathilde Saubole, intimacy coordinator and acting coach, this session offers a behind-the-scenes look at the casting process and a deeper understanding of the challenges currently facing the audiovisual industry.
Self-tapes, remote auditions, diversity, artificial intelligence in the selection process, privacy coordination on set… These are just some of the topics that will be explored through the perspectives and experiences of industry professionals.
Far from a traditional lecture or a set of ready-made formulas, this masterclass is intended above all as a space for discussion open to everyone. It’s an opportunity to ask your questions, share your thoughts, and gain a better understanding of what goes on behind the camera.
A National Premiere at the FIFCL
The festival will also host the national premiere of the film JOSÈPHE, with Anaïs Aidoud—a speaker at this masterclass—in attendance. This is another opportunity to discover her work and continue the discussion about cinema and the acting profession.
Following the session, a Q&A will allow for further discussion, before a casual drinks reception in the professional lounge at the Palais des Congrès. This will also be an opportunity to meet the speakers, chat with them, and hand them your resume and demo reel.
Who is this masterclass for?
This event is open to anyone interested in acting—whether you’re an experienced professional, a student, a beginner, or simply curious to get a behind-the-scenes look at the casting process.
