Although there are scriptwriting sections in some universities and business schools, few new scriptwriters manage to break into a complicated market. What are the obstacles to the survival and development of screenwriters in French-speaking Belgium? Can this situation be remedied?
In an attempt to answer these questions, and come up with a few possible solutions, Rencontres Professionnelles 2022 has brought together a representative panel from the profession, training institutions and the political world, to (re)discover the situation of screenwriters, in Belgium and elsewhere.
