Presentation
of the festival

Since 2016, the Liège International Comedy Film Festival has been drawing a large and diverse audience with its central theme of comedy, in all its forms. Romcoms, dramatic comedies, topical comedies, horror comedies. From Belgium and from all around the world. On the agenda: previews, school screenings, film lessons, casting sessions for extras, master classes, lectures, workshops, networking, opportunities to meet industry professionals and film crews, signing sessions, tributes, and awards. All this is going on in the heart of a warm, welcoming, and free-spirited European city.

Many of the great names of world cinema

Some came back for more! The FIFCL fosters bonds between people, as a window onto the world and a creator of opportunities at different levels. It is aimed at an audience that, indiscriminately and without distinction, shares a universal value: laughter. Young and old, schoolchildren, students, teachers, workers, employees, executives, actors, scriptwriters, directors, casting directors… everyone laughs here, in every language.

Gérard Darmon, Josiane Balasko, Thierry Lhermitte, Michèle Laroque, Gérard Jugnot, Alysson Paradis, Clovis Cornillac, Jean-Marie Poiré, Valérie Bonneton, Patrice Leconte, Anne Émond, Dominique Pinon, Tom Audenaert, Olivier Gourmet, Xin Wang, Bouli Lanners, Éric Judor, Élie Semoun, Jaco Van Dormael, Michaël Youn, Camille Chamoux, Jonathan Cohen, Bruno Solo, Yvan Le Bolloc’h, Wim Willaert, Catherine Jacob, Charlie Dupont, Daniel Prévost, Émilie Bierre, François Berléand, Guillaume de Tonquédec, Jean-Pierre Améris, Kev Adams… sont passés par ici.

One last thing: the FIFCL is the only festival in Belgium to present awards to comedies, and the only festival in Europe to award international comedies: some thirty films, both feature films and shorts, are included in the competition each year. This year, once again, the festival will shine from all standpoints: societal, cultural, poetic, economic, tourist, gastronomic and educational.
