a film

The competition is open to new feature films and comedy shorts

The competition is open to new feature films and comedy shorts, of Belgian or international production, made during the twenty months leading up to the Festival.

The following rules must be followed :

The Competition is open to original comedy short films and feature films, both Belgian and international, which have been made over the 12 months preceding the FIFCL.
To be eligible, a feature film must be longer than 60 minutes

The Festival does not accept films between 20 and 60 minutes in length.

Films of 20 minutes or less can be submitted to the short film selection.

The films must not have been broadcast on the internet, or had a DVD release

An internet link is mandatory

If selected, the final copy of the film must be delivered to Liège by 12 October 2022 at the latest.

The selection committee will be able to view a film

  • WITHOUT subtitles if the original language is French
  • WITH subtitles in French for other languages.

The deadline to submit your entries is 30 September 2022.

IF YOUR FILM IS SELECTED…

You will be notified before the official press conference scheduled for early October
You will have to prepare a screening of your film as a DCP (Digital Cinema Package)
The Films Department will give you all the necessary information in due course only if your film is selected

  • FESTIVAL GRAND PRIZE
10,000 euros in broadcasting rights acquisition from the RTBF (Radio and Television for the French-speaking Belgian community) to the films’ Belgian distributor
4,000 euros in broadcasting rights acquisition from Be tv for the producer

Espaces promotionnels d’une valeur de 12.500 euros offerts par Sudpresse

Projection of the winning film in the Kinepolis Group rooms and 50% of profits shared with the Belgian distributor

1,000 euros from Uhoda Passion Service  for the director(s)
  • BEST ACTRESS AWARD
  • BEST ACTOR AWARD

SHORT FILM JURY – OFFICIAL COMPETITION

  • BEST SHORT FILM AWARD
1,500 euros from the FIFCL for the director(s)

1,500 euros in broadcasting rights acquisition from Be tv for the producer

2,000 euros, as a guaranteed minimum, paid to the film’s rights’ holder by Premium Films
  • BEST SCREENPLAY AWARD

500 euros from the FIFCL for the director(s)
