The Palais des Congrès, the new beating heart of the festival!

A new rhythm for the festival

The 11ᵉedition of the FIFCL will take place from Tuesday November 10 to Saturday November 14, 2026, rather than from Wednesday to Sunday as in previous editions. This new schedule will optimize the organization of screenings, meetings and professional activities, while retaining the festive, convivial DNA for which the festival is renowned.

Another major change is that FIFCL will now be based at the Palais des Congrès de Liège, an emblematic venue on the banks of the Meuse, in the heart of the Parc de la Boverie. This exceptional setting will enable us to centralize the festival’s activities and welcome a growing number of festival-goers in optimal conditions.

The Palais des Congrès de Liège boasts the Salle des Fêtes, a 1,000 m² space, as well as several other venues for screenings and meetings in a variety of configurations.

Three halls will host screenings, meetings with guests, ceremonies, conferences and masterclasses, with capacities of around 250, 500 and 1,000 seats respectively. The festival will thus be able to welcome more professionals, festival-goers and accredited guests, and offer an even richer experience to the public.

This development has been made possible thanks to the support of the Uhoda Group, the festival’s main private partner, whose commitment helps to support the growth and ambition of FIFCL.

“Supporting FIFCL in this important new chapter of its growth, which now includes the Palais des Congrès as a key part of the organization, is a matter of course for us! A festival with such international resonance deserves a core facility to match its ambitions. This project is also an opportunity to reinforce the position of the Palais des Congrès, an iconic modernist building in the Liège landscape, as a major space for meetings, culture and creation in Liège, and to offer the public, as well as professionals, a setting commensurate with the energy and success of FIFCL.”

“Investing in the Palais des Congrès, an exceptional building on the banks of the Meuse and in the heart of the Parc de la Boverie, is an opportunity we absolutely didn’t want to miss. The festival will be able to welcome more festival-goers and centralize its activities in a single location, which will be more efficient and functional, while maintaining the inaugurations of the slabs on Rue Pont d’Avroy and our collaborations with cinemas in the hyper-center. After 10 years, it was time to move on, and the Palais is a coherent choice, commensurate with FIFCL’s positive growth!”

The emblematic moments of the festival will nevertheless remain anchored in the city center: the inaugurations of paving stones on rue Pont d’Avroy will be maintained, and collaborations with cinemas in the hyper-center will continue.

After 10 years of growth and success, the Liège International Comedy Film Festival is embarking on a new chapter in its history. For its 11ᵉ edition, the festival will adopt a new configuration, both in terms of dates and venue, to accompany its development and offer festival-goers an even more immersive experience.
