Synopsis

Gabriel Carvin, a starred chef from Saumur is awarded his third crystal star by a culinary critic. The same evening his wife, Louise, leaves him. This brutal separation triggers a family crisis. For Gabriel, the overflow strikes him in the heart. Victim of a heart attack, this hyperactive man will now have to live far from his pots and pans.
This salutary break will perhaps allow him to find another passion. To change his mind, he goes to Japan, which will allow him to reconnect with the simple pleasures of friendship, and to try to discover the mysteries of umami, the fifth flavor of the palate.
